1 - Fixes and Changes in 5.8.5

LogiQ 5.8.5 is a Service Pack. It is a minor release which only affects a few modules. It can be installed as an upgrade for LogiQ versions 5.8.0, 5.8.1, 5.8.2, 5.8.3 and 5.8.4. For new installations of LogiQ, release 5.8.0 must be installed first followed by the 5.8.5 Service Pack. 

To describe the features and fixes included in this Service Pack the following notation is used.

Upgraded Serial Port communications
We were forced to redevelop the serial port communications code because Microsoft had killed off the serial port activex we were using before.

Put Direct Debit Schedule On Hold
It is now possible to put a Customers Direct Debit (Payment) Schedule On Hold. This will stop the customer's payments from being procesded in future payment runs. Also, when EziDebit returns a fatal rejection for a customer's payment, we automatically put the customer's payment schedule On Hold. You can manually take a Customer off On Hold in the Customer Module in the Direct Debits Schedule.

Stop Signal being Sent to Gate
You can now stop specific signals being sent to a gate or turnstile. You can do this by inserting registry settings for the signals. For further information contact QVisual Support.

Access Control Logging
You can now turn on/off Access Control logging by inserting a Log keyword in the registry. By default logging is off. For further information contact QVisual Support.

EziDebit Mobile Phone Numbers
We now send mobile phone numbers to EziDebit so that they can txt members.

TPOS Customer Search
The customer search box in TPOS was not accepting tildas and other such characters. This issue has been fixed.

Access Control Gate
When clicking on a Gate in Access Control (to override), it was producing an error. This has now been fixed.

Add Course - Class Pricing
When adding a course using the Course Wizard it was not saving this setting. Fixed.

Changing Course End Time
When adding a course using the Course Wizard you cannot change the End Time. Fixed.

2 - Installation

  1. Please contact techsupport@qvisual.com.au to obtain upgrade files and assistance for carrying out upgrades.

  2. During an upgrade the following steps might be taken (with the assistance of Qvisual Support Staff):


  • Perform a full back up of the live database.

  • Create a new TEST database

  • Test the upgrade on the TEST database

  • Upgrade the LIVE database

  • Upgrade the client workstations

3 - Uninstalling

  1. Click Start, and then click Control Panel.

  2. Click Add or Remove Programs.

  3.  Scroll down to "LogiQ 5.8.4", or some other old version, click on it, and then click Change/Remove.
